Hi! I’m Susie (she/her).

My name is Susie Draighan. I am a Vanderbilt University trained, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
I meet with adults who have mental health conditions that have not responded to therapy alone, and together we determine whether psychiatric medication is the right step. I take a collaborative approach, and enjoy ensuring my clients feel informed about the care decisions they are making.
Continuing education is a critical part of any healthcare provider’s work. I work to stay informed of current evidence-based interventions in psychiatry, and maintain additional certifications in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and substance use disorders (CARN-AP).
Outside of my role as a clinician, I’m a mom, a very slow runner, and I love to bake.
Why Opal Behavioral Health?
People are multifaceted and their attributes shine in the right conditions. I want to help you to see the beauty of those attributes, even the ones you may not have thought kindly of. All of the parts that make us up have value and purpose. At Opal, I will work with you to appreciate you as a whole being.
Expertise
My areas of clinical expertise include managing mental health concerns in the perinatal period (before, during, and after pregnancy), mood disorders (bipolar disorder, depression), anxiety disorders, and attention concerns.
I have additional training and experience in working with gender diverse individuals.
I understand that most experiences of mental distress do not fit neatly into diagnostic categories and will work with you to identify a treatment plan that meets your individual needs.
